The Crankbrothers Mallet clip-in shoes are for gravity focused riding on the race track and at the bike park. The Mallet is optimised for use with Crankbrothers Mallet pedals and features the innovative Match System for hassle-free engagement with any MTB clip-in system, whether that’s Crankbrothers or SPD.

The shoes come with a Match shim and Crankbrothers cleat pre-installed in a neutral position so they are ready to ride with Crankbrothers pedals right out of the box. The shim positions the cleat for a great feel with Crankbrothers pedals and can be removed once the cleat wears down to retain a positive engagement with the pedal that's not too loose and not too tight.

SPD pedals don't need the shim so you can remove it and put it in your spares box if you're running these shoes with SPD's or most other brands of pedals.
